MISSION\TRIP - VOLUNTEERS
The Mission Trip group will be serving our community on June 25-28. Through the Spaghetti Dinner, we were able to raise money to purchase larger supplies for our projects. We are still in need, however, of smaller supplies: paint roller covers (3/4" nap), rags, plastic containers for paint preferably with lids. painters tape (1.5 inch or wider), safety goggles, dust mask and caulk guns. We would you greatly appreciate if you would consider donating one of these items for use by the teens and adults on the trip. There will be a bin marked "Mission Trip" located in the Gathering Space if you wish to donate items. Thank you for your support!!
If you are wanting to volunteer for the Mission Trip (June 24 -29) there are many different needs, and we will be excited to have you with us! I will need to know by May 15th. All volunteers that will be working with the teens must complete Virtus training before volunteering. We will have this training available on Sunday, May 20th from 10am - 1pm. Please contact Mary Jo Smith, 437-7900 or Jaci Lenhart.
OPPORTUNITY
We would like to encourage every person 18 and over including parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends to participate in the Virtus (Protecting God's Children Program) training at St. Anthony's on May 20th. This program is a wonderful gift to our children and adults as well, that our Diocese offers in order to keep our children safe. All volunteers working with children under the age of 18 must have this training before volunteering. If you have already done this program I would encourage you to do it again as a refresher, as you would with CPR (although it is not required). The training will be on May 20th, 10am -1pm in the conference room. Please call to let us know you will be attending. If you have questions call Jaci Lenhart 437-2777 or Mary Jo Smith 437-7900.

FUNERAL MEALS
Thanks to all who returned the volunteer forms to help with the funeral meals. We still need people to call others to bring in a dish. This is not a big commitment. We usually only need you to call 5 or 6 people for a meal.
For a number of years, St. Anthony Church Council of Catholic Women has provided a service to all members and their families. That service is to provide a meal after the funeral of a family member. This is a service potentially needed by all members of St. Anthony Parish. The benefits are many. Not just to feed our families but possibly to bring a family member back to the church or inspire a member or friend to join the church. It has far-reaching benefits.
That said, our program is in need of up-dating. We have many new members who don’t know how to volunteer for this service. The workers needed are many. There are ladies who help serve the meal, who cook or bake for the meal, and also those who call the ladies on their ladies on their list to ask them for a vegetable dish, a salad, or a dessert. If you volunteer for this program, you could be called only once or twice a year, more or less often depending on how many funerals we have.
Young mothers who can’t be there to serve food may want to bake or do some calling. When you are called to serve, it is usually from 9 am to 2 pm, not a long time and within the school day for those who have children in school.
